Maison Metcalf is located in the northwest corner of the Dordogne and lies on the “cross roads” of the four departments. An hour from both Bordeaux airport and Bergerac airport, our spot is the perfect base from which to explore the wine regions to the East, South and West, and of course the Cognac vineyards to the North. The route from Bordeaux Airport is usually an easy drive. French roads, in general, are well sign posted and in great condition. Please contact us for detailed directions when you make your reservation.
From Bergerac Airport
The route from Bergerac Airport is generally quieter and smoother running. Again, please contact us for detailed directions when you make your reservation.
From the North (Calais, Roscoff, St Malo)
We are about 800km from Calais and 600km from the ferry port in Roscoff, Brittany. It is an easy, scenic drive and again, the roads are well maintained. Added bonus? Unlike the Eastern part of the Dordogne, where traffic can become very congested, the drive to our area should be stress free and more pleasurable. Please contact us when you make your reservation if you plan to dirve. We will advise on the best route to get you to Maison Metcalf.
